กุหลาบเป็นดอกไม้ที่นิยมปลูกไว้ชื่นชมมาแต่โบราณ ประมาณกันว่ากุหลาบเกิดขึ้นเมื่อกว่า 70 ล้านปีมาแล้ว เคยมีการค้นพบฟอสซิลของกุหลาบใน รัฐโคโลราโด และ รัฐโอเรกอน ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา และได้พิสูจน์ว่ากุหลาบป่าเป็นพืชที่มีอายุถึง 40 ล้านปี แต่กุหลาบป่าสมัยโลกล้านปีนี้ มีรูปร่างหน้าตาไม่เหมือนกุหลาบสมัยนี้ เนื่องจากมนุษย์ได้นำเอากุหลาบป่ามาปลูกและผสมพันธุ์ ขยายพันธุ์เป็นพันธุ์ต่างๆ มากมาย

ความจริงแล้วกำเนิดของกุหลาบหรือกุหลาบป่านี้มีเฉพาะในแถบบริเวณเหนือเส้นศูนย์สูตรของโลกเท่านั้น คือกำเนิดในภาคกลางของทวีปเอเชีย แล้วแพร่ขยายพันธุ์ไปตลอดซีกโลกเหนือ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นแถบที่มีอากาศหนาวจัดอย่าง อาร์กติก อลาสก้า ไซบีเรีย หรือแถบอากาศร้อนอย่าง อินเดีย แอฟริกาเหนือ แต่ในบริเวณแถบใต้เส้นศูนย์สูตรอย่างทวีปออสเตรเลีย หรือเกาะต่างๆ ในมหาสมุทรรวมทั้งแอฟริกาใต้ ไม่เคยมีปรากฏว่ามีกุหลาบป่าเกิดขึ้นเองตามธรรมชาติเลย

ตามประวัติศาสตร์เล่าว่า กุหลาบป่าถูกนำมาปลูกไว้ในพระราชวังของจักรพรรด์จีน ในสมัยราชวงศ์ฮั่นราว 5,000 ปีมาแล้ว ขณะที่อียิปต์เองก็ปลูกกุหลาบเป็นไม้ดอก ส่งไปขายให้แก่ชาวโรมัน ชาวโรมันเป็นชาติที่รักดอกกุหลาบมากถึงจะสั่งซื้อจากประเทศอียิปต์แล้ว ยังลงทุนสร้างเนอร์สเซอรี่ขนาดใหญ่สำหรับปลูกดอกกุหลาบอีกด้วย สำหรับชาวโรมันแล้วเรียกได้ว่าดอกกุหลาบมีความสำคัญกับชีวิตประจำวัน เพราะชาวโรมันถือว่าดอกกุหลาบเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของความรัก ซึ่งเป็นทั้งของขวัญ เป็นดอกไม้สำหรับทำเป็นมาลัยต้อนรับแขก เป็นดอกไม้สำหรับงานเฉลิมฉลองต่างๆ ใช้เป็นส่วนประกอบสำหรับทำขนม ทำไวน์ ส่วนน้ำมันกุหลาบยังใช้ทำเป็นยาได้อีกด้วย

Chocolate has become one of the most popular flavors in the world. It is a common ingredient in many snacks and deserts, including but not limited to cookies, cake, ice cream, pudding, pie and candy. Gifts of chocolate molded into different shapes have become traditional on certain holidays: chocolate bunnies and eggs are popular on Easter, chocolate coins on Hanukkah, Santa Claus and other holiday symbols on Christmas, and hearts on Valentine's Day. Chocolate is also used in cold and hot beverages, including chocolate milk and hot chocolate.

Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. In the West, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.
The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines". Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards. The sending of Valentines was a fashion in nineteenth-century Great Britain, and, in 1847, Esther Howland developed a successful business in her Worcester, Massachusetts home with hand-made Valentine cards based on British models. The popularity of Valentine cards in 19th century America was a harbinger of the future commercialization of holidays in the United States.
The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year, behind Christmas. The association estimates that, in the US, men spend on average twice as much money as women.

*+ Saint Valentine +*

Saint Valentine is the name of several martyred saints of ancient Rome. The name "Valentine", derived from valens (worthy), was popular in Late Antiquity. Of the Saint Valentine whose feast is on February 14, nothing is known except his name and that he was buried at the Via Flaminia north of Rome on February 14. It is even uncertain whether the feast of that day celebrates only one saint or more saints of the same name. For this reason this liturgical commemoration was not kept in the Catholic calendar of saints for universal liturgical veneration as revised in 1969. But "Martyr Valentinus the Presbyter and those with him at Rome" remains in the list of saints proposed for veneration by all Catholics.
In the Eastern Orthodox Church, Saint Valentine the Presbyter, is celebrated on July 6, and Hieromartyr Saint Valentine (Bishop of Interamna, Terni in Italy) is celebrated on July 30.
The name "Valentine" does not occur in the earliest list of Roman martyrs, compiled by the Chronographer of 354. The feast of St. Valentine was first established in 496 by Pope Gelasius I, who included Valentine among those "... whose names are justly reverenced among men, but whose acts are known only to God." As Gelasius implied, nothing was known, even then, about the lives of any of these martyrs. The Saint Valentine that appears in various martyrologies in connection with February 14 is described either as:
A priest in Rome
A bishop of Interamna (modern Terni)
A martyr in the Roman province of Africa.
The first representation of Saint Valentine appeared in the Nuremberg Chronicle, (1493); alongside the woodcut portrait of Valentine the text states that he was a Roman priest martyred during the reign of Claudius II, known as Claudius Gothicus. He was arrested and imprisoned upon being caught marrying Christian couples and otherwise aiding Christians who were at the time being persecuted by Claudius in Rome. Helping Christians at this time was considered a crime. Claudius took a liking to this prisoner -- until Valentinus tried to convert the Emperor -- whereupon this priest was condemned to death. He was beaten with clubs and stoned; when that didn't finish him, he was beheaded outside the Flaminian Gate. Various dates are given for the martyrdom or martyrdoms: 269, 270, or 273.
The official Roman Martyrology for February 14 mentions only one Saint Valentine.
English eighteenth-century antiquarians Alban Butler and Francis Douce, noting the obscurity of Saint Valentine's identity, suggested that Valentine's Day was created as an attempt to supersede the pagan holiday of Lupercalia. This idea has lately been contested by Professor Jack Oruch of the University of Kansas. Many of the current legends that characterise Saint Valentine were invented in the fourteenth century in England, notably by Geoffrey Chaucer and his circle, when the feast day of February 14 first became associated with romantic love.
While a website of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia and other sources give different lists of Saint Valentines, the Catholic Church's official list of recognized saints, the Roman Martyrology lists seven: a martyr (Roman priest or Terni bishop?) buried on the Via Flaminia (February 14); a priest from Viterbo (November 3); a bishop from Raetia who died in about 450 (January 7); a fifth-century priest and hermit (July 4); a Spanish hermit who died in about 715 (October 25); Valentine Berrio Ochoa, martyred in 1861 (November 24); and Valentine Jaunzarás Gómez, martyred in 1936 (September 18).

La console dispose d'un disque dur, d'un navigateur internet et fait office de media center en supportant différents types de format multimédia. Elle propose une connectivité étendue avec la PlayStation Portable par Wi-Fi et est compatible avec les distributions Linux. Son service en ligne, le PlayStation Network, permet de jouer en réseau gratuitement, de télécharger des jeux, des démos, des bandes annonces et donne accès à divers services de communication. La manette, nommée Sixaxis, embarque un système de détection de mouvement, apportant un type d'interaction original avec les jeux. En novembre 2008, plus de 300 titres originaux ont été commercialisés sur la console.

Final Fantasy is a media franchise created by Hironobu Sakaguchi and owned by Square Enix that includes video games, motion pictures, and other merchandise. The series began in 1987 as an eponymous console role-playing game (RPG) developed by Square, spawning a video game series that became the central focus of the franchise. The franchise has since branched out into other genres and platforms, such as tactical RPGs, portable games, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, and games for mobile phones. As of March 2007, there are twenty-eight games in the franchise—including twelve numbered games and numerous spin-off titles. The series has spurred the release of three animated productions, two full-length CGI films, and several printed adaptations of the video games.
Most Final Fantasy installments are independent stories (the numbers after the title refers more to volumes than sequels); however, they feature common elements that define the franchise. Such elements include recurring creatures, character names, airships and character classes. The series has popularized many features that are now widely used in console RPGs, and it is well known for its visuals, music, and innovation, such as the inclusion of full motion videos, photo-realistic character models, and orchestrated music by Nobuo Uematsu. The series has been commercially and critically successful; it is the fourth-best-selling video game franchise, only bested by Mario, Pokémon, and The Sims, and Square Enix's best selling series, with more than 85 million units sold as of July 7, 2008. Many individual titles in the series have garnered extra attention and their own positive reception. In addition, the series was awarded a star on the Walk of Game in 2006, and holds seven Guinness World Records in the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2008.
